Preplanning and project management are
the key to the successful completion of any library relocation.
Clancy-Cullen will create a comprehensive "move plan"
in consultation with our project managers, our staff MLS and
your library staff.

(cleaning, integration, rare and special collections, interim

"move team" key employees from the library are selected
to make decisions in conjunction with the information provided
by Clancy-Cullen. |
| Collection Measurement collections
are divided into distinct segments and measured to provide linear
footage. |
| Shelf Fill
Calculations growth is determined by analyzing previously measured
collections segments in relation to space available or projected
growth requirements. |
| Journal Growth growth space
for live titles is calculated by utilizing a title by title measurement,
which includes the space required for one year for each live
title. This information is then analyzed in relation to space
available or projected growth requirements. |
| Integration
and/or segregation planning- requires intensive preplanning,
collection measurement, analyze required swing spaces and required
growth. Integration and segregation may be in block or item by
item. |
| Collection mapping- utilizing
the data previously collected, create a map of collection segments
at origin (present) and a map of collections for destination
(new location). |
| Create
"move plan" a written move plan in the form of a spreadsheet
to include all data collected above; distinct collection segment
number, start and ending call number of segment, linear footage,
origin and destination shelf address, growth requirements, shelf
setting requirements and special handling requirements. |

each collection segment will be shelved at the proper shelf address,
utilizing proper shelving instructions and growth requirements.
